Birthday Greetings from China! One of the first obvious things when changing cultures is that old traditions may not be an option. We have no place to bake a cake and the ones in the store are all sponge with whipped cream as icing. So we got what we thought would be a sort of cinnamon roll/coffee cake thing. BWAhahahahaha! It was red bean bread.....a bit sweet and definitely good but, hey, not what we had expected. :-)
So, what to do-what to do? We needed a new plan. Well, one of the things I have never been able to do in the States is afford to get my nails done. No, never--hard to believe, I know--especially for those who know I have naturally long nails. But it is just so ASIAN we decided to give it a whirl. At $4 US why not. :-)) so here are the pics. I could seriously get used to this. :-))
